Where my heArt is
A little bit about me…To my surprise I ended up here, through so many attempts at forming a creative space to get out of my head and make art instead.
Alongside my teaching career I have carved out ideas both creative and entrepreneurial, I seized opportunities to start up individual projects with hard work and commitment. Endless ideas filled my life with drama complications and fun and laughter. And throughout it all somehow making time to get into the studio no matter how brief.
As a lifelong artist, I’m always looking for the next opportunity to translate my everyday experiences into artistic expressions.

From my wee black shed studio in North Ayrshire Scotland to your happy place.
Since setting up black shed studio in my back garden I can be found out there in the Summer months working on creative projects, and in the Winter I migrate to the house.
What am I doing in the studio?
Some of the work I have produced in the last few years are large abstract paintings. More recently some of the work I produced for exhibitions, mostly paintings are abstract and figurative.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT ART?
When I started
Since 2000, I’ve led a life fully devoted to the arts and education. Graduating with BAHons fine art [environmental art] from Glasgow School of Art where I took up an exchange semester study at Emily Carr Art School Vancouver. As well as honing skills over the years in Photography and various expressive techniques attending courses closer to home in Glasgow. I am a professional who is constantly re-inventing the definition of art, keeping up with the fast pace at which the industry is evolving. I believe in constantly taking risks and that inspiration can be found wherever you look. Responding to nature and whatever is around me in order to make me feel better. Rarely have I found the rigid single pathway through life or indeed my day there's always another way of seeing and doing things. If my style speaks to you, I’d love to work with you in the future.
